What would it mean to you to attend a Paul McCartney Concert?
For Cindy and her husband, Wade, it was well worth preserving the experience.
As concert enthusiasts , this one was high on their bucket list.
Cindy decided to have their “On the Run Tour” tickets and the concert brochure framed as a birthday gift for her husband.
As often is the case with framing memorabilia, there was an extra challenge. The challenge here was to keep the brochure intact as well as allow for it to be removed and viewed from time to time.
Two coordinating mats where spliced together.
(It doesn’t look like it in the photo but actually the mats match the shading of the brochure. I’m a good framer, a great eater of dark chocolate but a not so good photographer.)
A bottom mat in red was added to the lower portion of this mat to mimic the shadowing of the lettering on the brochure.
This mat configuration was then spaced up from a matching background mat by the same thickness of the brochure itself.
The result was basically a “pocket” to which the brochure could then be slipped in and out. The red partial mat mentioned above and one of the concert tickets mounted on a red mat board actually holds the brochure in place.
This project was so fun to work on.
And what makes it even more special is knowing how important this memory is to Cindy and Wade.
Yes, maybe you could say I’m amazed how well it turned out!
