It didn’t happen last year Christmas but . . .
This year I am going to keep things simple!
(I hear you snickering)
Anyway, despite your lack of confidence in me, I have been busy online shopping, trying to get “simple” holiday gifts organized for family living abroad.
I always feel like I’m living on the edge when I hit “Place Order” from an overseas vendor I am not familiar with. So far, so good.
So keeping with the “simple” theme, I want to share this simple framing project I just completed.
All that was required on my part was a special wall buddy hanging system.
Diane was the creative one!
She brought in several vintage printer letter press drawers.
These drawers are thin wooden trays with compartments that were for holding and sorting letter stamps used in a printing presses between the 15th century and the 19th century.
By turning them on their side, Diane repurposed the drawers as ledges that will hang on the wall by the door to display her grandkid’s tiny treasures. Their walks and adventures together always result in amazing finds like rocks, feathers, shells, twigs and other important collectibles.
It’s an ever-changing display of memories living on the ledge.
Thanks for the great idea Diane!
