How do I know when the framing design is perfect?
The most obvious sign is when someone says “That’s perfect!”. (lol)
Aside from that, I take my cues from nonverbal reactions.
Often we take a deep breathe in when something appeals to us.
(like that first sip of perfectly brewed cappuccino or bite of rich dark chocolate).
I will start with an idea, tweak it to match a client’s taste and am assured great design when I sense that “Yea, that’s the ticket!”
Such was the case with this project.
A slightly distressed bright red simple lined wood frame was just the ticket. (well one of the tickets)
A selection of related tickets were added to personalize the framing.
The tickets could not be just placed anywhere. They needed to be presented and placed to achieve visual balance in relation to all elements within the frame.
It took a bit more thought to finally say:
Yea, that’s the ticket!
