Finally, I am using it!
I had to reschedule several times but today I am going to enjoy a spa treatment gift certificate from 10 months ago.
This tired looking body can really use the pampering!
(Yippee! And also a great way to celebrate my 100th issue of this newsletter, don’t you think?)
It may sound cliche but as good as it is to take care of the outside of your body, it’s what’s inside that counts.
(No, I’m mot talking about how much chocolate is inside. But now that you mention it maybe I should do a quick cupboard search . . .)
OK. I’m back now. Where was I?
Oh yes, what’s inside.
Over the years I have had several clients who walked all or parts of the Camino De Santiago finding spiritual growth, inner peace and a sense of accomplishment.
The items they bring in to frame always ignites a flood of emotion within them.
What you put in your object/shadow box frame counts.
How do you decide what to put inside?
1. Take your time. There is no right or wrong.
(ok . . . maybe there is a wrong. See item 3 below)
2. Gather all items that you have saved related to the experience.
ie. photos, certificates, artwork and 3-D objects. Consider things like clothing, shoes, walking sticks, water bottles, stones, maps, awards. The possibilities are endless.
3. Discard any items that bring back bad or unwanted memories.
ie. don’t bring your airplane tickets if you flew UNITED and witnessed an extremely distressing in-flight altercation between a passenger and the flight crew.
(I know! Like that would EVER happen, right?)
4. Reflect o the items you have on hand and note a few that trigger the best memories.
These will be the “must” include items. The other items can be added if needed to achieve an aesthetically pleasing arrangement.
5. Bring all items to me and let the fun begin!
It’s what’s inside that counts!
I have been so inspired by my clients recounting their Camino experiences that it is now high on my bucket list.
How about you? Inspired?
Check out the mats below and others if you have some fun experience photos to display or better yet, contact me and see what we can create together.
